Computer Network Support Specialist (CISCO) The Computer Network Support Specialist at Ascension Auxiliary Air Field (PSFB/CCSFS) is responsible for the configuration, operation, and support of business systems within a globally dispersed Windows 10 Enterprise network. This role supports a mixed Windows environment with various server platforms and applications, including Tier 1/2 troubleshooting, system administration, and user assistance. The specialist plays a key role in optimizing system performance, conducting capacity planning, and supporting Active Directory services. Responsibilities also include remote diagnostics, system monitoring, and on-site support as required in support of Ascension Auxiliary Airfield (AAAF). Responsibilities Monitor and control computer operating systems, performing complex assignments. Manage daily activities related to configuration and operation of business systems. Optimize system performance and resource utilization; perform capacity analysis and planning. Assist users in accessing and utilizing business systems. Set up and maintain various computer systems, including Windows, UNIX, and VMS; analyze faults and troubleshoot hardware and software issues. Evaluate, install, and document software during testing phases. Investigate solutions and perform preventive maintenance on operating systems. Coordinate with vendors and support project-specific system requirements. Support Windows 10 Enterprise network systems and applications, including Active Directory. Provide Tier 1/2 support, troubleshooting, and server administration in a global environment. Travel to customer sites and provide remote support as needed. Perform other duties as assigned to meet organizational needs. Qualifications Education: BA/BS +3 years recent specialized or AA/AS +3 years recent specialized or major cert + 5 years recent experience. One-year related experience may substitute for one year of education. Certifications: Secret Clearance, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), CompTIA Security+ (IAT Level II or greater). Experience: Experience with VMware ESXi, network storage (SAN/NAS), enterprise backup solutions, Cisco routers and switches, and understanding of DoD standards. Ability to work in dynamic environments and coordinate team efforts. Other Requirements: ITIL v3 Foundation, CCNA, automation skills (PowerShell, VBScript, batch), experience with Microsoft SCCM, and preferred experience with DoD or government contracts. Skills and Technologies: Attention to detail, valid driver's license, adaptability to weather conditions, and responsiveness to emergency situations, including after-hours support.
