Job Summary:

We are seeking a Mid-Level Cybersecurity Engineer with experience in the aerospace and defense sector to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, and enhancing cybersecurity measures to ensure compliance with DoD and aerospace industry standards. This role requires hands-on technical skills, strong knowledge of NIST RMF, and the ability to work in a classified environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the implementation and monitoring of cybersecurity controls across classified and unclassified aerospace systems.
• Perform risk assessments, vulnerability scans, and security impact analyses on mission-critical systems.
• Ensure systems comply with DoD cybersecurity policies (e.g., NIST 800-53, RMF, DFARS, CMMC, STIGs).
• Develop and maintain System Security Plans (SSP), POA&Ms, and Security Assessment Reports (SAR).
• Assist in the development and validation of security architecture and cybersecurity engineering designs.
• Respond to and investigate security incidents and anomalies, ensuring proper containment and remediation.
• Collaborate with program managers, systems engineers, and IT staff to integrate security throughout the system lifecycle.
• Support security audits and inspections by federal or DoD agencies.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
• 3 7 years of cybersecurity engineering experience, preferably in an aerospace, defense, or government environment.
• Active Secret Clearance required (TS/SCI preferred).
• Proficiency with cybersecurity tools such as Nessus, Splunk, Wireshark, ACAS, and endpoint protection platforms.
• Experience with NIST RMF, DIACAP, STIGs, DoD 8570, and FIPS 199/200.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, system hardening, and secure coding practices.
