Job Title: Electrical Engineer (Shipyard/Marine)
Location: Mobile, Alabama
Type: Direct Hire
Compensation:

Requirements - Design and specify shipboard electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, communications, automation, navigation, and propulsion support systems.
- Develop and review technical drawings, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, load analyses, and one-line diagrams.
- Ensure all designs comply with applicable codes and regulations (e.g., ABS, DNV, USCG, IEEE, NEC).
- Coordinate with naval architects, mechanical engineers, and production teams during all phases of construction.
- Support procurement by specifying electrical equipment and reviewing vendor documentation.
- Oversee system installation, troubleshoot issues during construction, and support testing and commissioning activities.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, change orders, and engineering reports.
- Interface with clients, classification societies, and regulatory inspectors during inspections and certifications.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in marine, industrial, or shipyard environments preferred.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, or similar CAD tools.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems design, power distribution, and control systems.
- Familiarity with shipbuilding processes and standards.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft office tools including Excel, Word and Outlook.

- Willingness to work in a shipyard setting and occasionally board vessels under construction.
