Position Details Grade: 21 Location: Nancy S. Grasmick Education Building, 200 West Baltimore Street, Baltimore, MD 21201 Hybrid schedule available (2 telework days permitted each week) Position Duties This professional position will assist the MSDE Division of Educator Effectiveness in determining applicant qualifications for Maryland licensure as teachers, specialists, supervisors, or administrators. Responsibilities include: Independently determine license eligibility based on approved pathways to licensure as specified in regulation and policy. Respond to inquiries, both written and oral, concerning licensure questions/issues for license holders and applicants. Assist with the creation and implementation of policies and procedures relating to educator licensure in Maryland. Provide technical assistance to local education agencies, nonpublic schools, and state agencies by reviewing, processing, and auditing credentials for licensure. Offer guidance on legal and programmatic matters related to educator licensure. Attend meetings and participate in work groups and trainings as a division representative. Minimum Qualifications Education: Master's degree or equivalent of 36 credit hours of post-baccalaureate coursework from an accredited institution. Experience: Four years of administrative or teaching experience in or related to an education program. Notes: Substitute options include a Bachelor's degree plus six years of relevant experience, or a Doctorate in a related field for one year of experience. Military service may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis. Desired or Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of trends, regulations, policies, and issues affecting teacher preparation or licensure. Experience in credential assessment, interpretation of standards, and providing technical assistance. Ability to manage a high volume of tasks efficiently.
