Role Summary:

American Outdoor Products is looking for an experienced Warehouse and Logistics Manager who is responsible for leading and coordinating all aspects of logistics and warehouse; including managing warehouse storage, receiving and distribution to include administration, managing and organizing inventory, receiving, shipping, leading and scheduling employees, sanitation, quality, safety and environmental.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and accountability to warehouse team members by clearly defining and coordinating daily priorities, tasks, and activities
  • Develop comprehensive training and cross-training programs to ensure staff proficiency and operational flexibility
  • Actively support and lead the implementation of company initiatives aimed at achieving performance metrics, quality standards, and safety objectives
  • Oversee finished goods inventory management and order fulfillment processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness of shipments
  • Manage shipping processes, including negotiating rates, handling damage claims, resolving receiving discrepancies, and reviewing and approving shipping invoices
  • Strategically plan and coordinate shipping schedules to consistently meet deadlines and maintain high service levels
  • Design, coordinate, and execute weekly cycle-count inventories by brand, ensuring reconciliation accuracy with ERP system
  • Continuously monitor finished goods and raw materials inventories to guarantee proper rotation, traceability, and proactively communicate inventory concerns to relevant teams
  • Ensure the timely and accurate recording of all inventory and transactional data in company systems
  • Implement and uphold effective operational practices and policies designed to control warehouse operational costs within established budgets
  • Regularly review warehouse operations, recommending and implementing procedural improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in shipment processing
  • Oversee maintenance and ensure the safety, security, and regulatory compliance of warehouse equipment, facilities, and overall environment, adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Manage and maintain optimal physical conditions and cleanliness of warehouse facilities, including docks, doors, and racking systems, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards
  • Maintain strict adherence to all QA/QC policies, GMPs, and SOPs across the warehouse and logistics teams
  • Optimize storage solutions, floor space, and racking systems to accommodate inventory levels effectively, proactively identifying and implementing space management improvements
  • Conduct regular departmental meetings to foster clear communication, enhance team alignment, and proactively address operational challenges
  • Maintain and foster strong relationships with current vendors and strategically identify opportunities to engage new vendor partnerships
  • Ensure timely and effective communication and responsiveness to inquiries from sales and other departments to maintain internal alignment
  • Analyze and report warehouse performance metrics regularly (e.g., order accuracy, inventory accuracy, shipment timeliness, productivity), leveraging data-driven insights to enhance decision-making and continuous improvement
  • Lead or support warehouse-related technology and automation projects aimed at increasing operational efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
  • Actively participate in annual budgeting and forecasting for warehouse and logistics operations, providing detailed insights and recommendations to inform financial planning
  • Manage staffing needs strategically, including workforce planning, hiring, onboarding, and succession planning within the warehouse and logistics team
  • Oversee the ordering and inventory management of all shipping materials, including corrugate, labels, tape, and other essential supplies to ensure uninterrupted operations
  • Manage ongoing facilities maintenance and repairs, including oversight of external vendors and contractors, to ensure safe, functional, and compliant building operations
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned, ensuring operational agility and flexibility

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience managing 5+ employees
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a similar position; experience with manufacturing preferred
  • Strong knowledge of computers, logistics software, and ERP systems
  • Track record of championing accountability, discipline, focus, and success
  • Strategic thinking, with a high degree of problem solving and the ability to constructively participate in a team environment
  • Excellent communication, management, leadership, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work from our Boulder warehouse five days per week (Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays)
  • Ability to speak Spanish is a plus
